Read the scripture and ask the Lord to teach you His truth through what you read.  Then read the commentary, but remember that God's Word is always more important than anything I or any other person may write.

 Romans 5:6-11

John 10:24-29

While I was still a sinner, Christ died for me.  I had no hope.  I was vile and desperate.  I was ungodly and justified my selfishness, my anger, my worship of pleasure.  In the presence of a Holy God, I was the equivalent of gutter filth.  Yet Jesus loved me.  That's amazing!

I don't understand it.  I don't have to understand it.  I fell down on my knees before God and accepted His offer of reconciliation to Him.  Nothing I could do would have been enough to pay the penalty for my sins.  But Jesus paid it for me.

I am a member of God's family, His adopted child.  I heard His voice calling me.  I recognized His voice and followed Him.  He knows me and declares that no one, including me, can take me out of His hand.  I belong to Him.

What depth of joy and peace there is in that promise.  Not the world's definition of joy and peace, but something far beyond this world.  I am safe.  I am secure.  No matter what happens to me in this world, He holds me in His hand.  The Father is greater than all, and I belong to Him.

I am filled with awe.  I cannot fully take in the enormity of this reality.  How can I be anything but entirely grateful to Him.  How can I do less than serve Him with everything I have.

If you do not know Jesus as your Savior, ask Him now to come in to your heart.  Give your life to Him.  He will make you new and complete.

My precious Lord Jesus, thank You does not seem like enough.  Dedicating my life to You is such a small sacrifice to offer compared to what You have done for me.  But it is all I have and I willingly, gratefully and eagerly give it all to You.
