Then He arose, and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace, be still!"

And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. But He said unto them, "Why are ye so fearful? How is it that ye have no faith?"

And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, "Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?"

Commentary:

All night a thunderstorm raged, but it was followed in the morning with an incredibly beautiful sunrise.  The retreating clouds were bathed in glorious glowing gold.  It was beyond amazing.  It was like a glimpse of the glory of God.

Our world and our lives are often stormy.  It can be fearful and dark.  But God's magnificence and goodness and strength and faithfulness to His children make the storm seem small and insignificant by comparison.  He is greater than any storm, and He cares for me and you.  In the midst of the storm, we can trust Him.  We will see the storm pass, and His sovereignty revealed.

Remember, He is in control.

Focus on Him instead of the storm.

In God is my salvation and my glory;  The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

Psalm 62:7  (NKJV)
