Week 2/23-3/1/2025                  Suggested Scripture to Ponder this week:

 Isaiah 55: 6-11

Seek the Lord while He may be found,

Call upon Him while He is near.

Let the wicked forsake his way,

And the unrighteous man his thoughts;

Let him return to the Lord,

And He will have mercy on him;

And to our God,

for He will abundantly pardon.

"For My thoughts are not your thoughts,

Nor are your ways My ways," says the Lord.

"For as the heavens are higher than the earth,

So are My ways higher than your ways,

And My thoughts than your thoughts.

For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven,

And do not return there,

But water the earth,

And make it bring forth and bud,

That it may give seed to the sower,

And bread to the eater,

So shall My Word be that goes forth from My mouth;

It shall not return to Me void,

But it shall accomplish what I please,

And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

Isaiah 55: 6-11 (NKJV)

         Commentary:

     The Lord, He is God.  His ways are not my ways.  His ways are far, far above anything I could think of.  He is calling to me to listen, to come to Him, and He will bless me.  If I feel worthless, if I have sinned, He says to call on Him and forsake my wicked ways and He will have mercy on me.  I just need to turn to Him.

       When it seems no one cares, He cares.  When it seems no one understands, He understands.  When there seems to be no point in all the work and struggle, He calls me to a higher purpose.  He tells me to trust my purpose in this life to Him.

      Everything in this world changes.  Nothing stays the same.  Nothing is easy (Isaiah 40:6-8).  The world is full of depression and despair and weariness.  But God's Word does not change.  He is constant.  He is the God Who is always there.  What God ordains will stand.  God's will cannot be thwarted.  His Word will accomplish the purpose God intended.

      There is peace and joy waiting for me.  After the snow and the rain the garden will bloom.  There will be food that satisfies.  Why do I work and struggle?  If it is for things of this earth, then it is pointless.  If I work and struggle with my eyes turned to the Lord, even when I don't understand how my work could possibly matter to Him, it does.  For Him, I can do the best I can at whatever I do, because His ways are higher than mine and He knows why He has me in this place at this time.  I can trust Him.  He is the Lord and Creator of all things and He never changes.

In God is my salvation and my glory;  The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

Psalm 62:7  (NKJV)
